Gordon Sauer is the Group Leader of Rainbow Elders of NJ at Hudson Pride Center. He is a retired NJ educator with over 40 years of experience who works with a number of LGBTQ+ organizations including Hudson Pride Center, GLSEN (An organization dedicated to making schools safe for LGBT+ students), SAGE (A national organization which supports LGBTQ+ older adults) and GAAMC (NJ’s Oldest LGBT organization). As the Group Leader of Rainbow Elders of NJ, Gordon facilitates weekly virtual meetings for LGBTQ+ older adults and provides individuals with support and information on available services. As a certified SAGECare trainer, Gordon speaks to eldercare agencies and also provides trainings to hospitals, long term-care and in-home support agencies on best practices for providing care to LGBT older adults. Gordon lives with his husband of 28 years and enjoys music, being outdoors and having fun.
