Elizabeth Schedl is the Executive Director of Hudson Pride Center and a passionate community activist dedicated to LGBTQ+ rights and equality. She began her journey with Hudson Pride in 2013, having previously served as the Chief Operations Officer and Deputy Director. Throughout her tenure, Schedl has been instrumental in raising awareness about LGBTQ+ issues and expanding the Center’s services and cultural programs for LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages in Hudson County. She has been pivotal in forging and maintaining partnerships with various agencies, businesses, corporations, community organizations, and individuals to enhance services for the LGBTQ+ community. Her efforts have also significantly increased diverse funding for the center through new grant opportunities, fundraising, and non-grant related contributions, expanding the reach and mission of Hudson Pride.

Schedl is also active in numerous community initiatives. She is a Council Member of the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault and serves on the Union City Municipal Alliance to Combat Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Committee, as well as the Jersey City mayor’s LGBTQ+ Task Force. In 2022, Elizabeth was appointed to the Governor’s Age-Friendly State Advisory Council and now serves on the Advisory Council of Healthy New Jersey 2030.

Originally from Princeton, NJ, Schedl holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in International Relations from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She currently resides in Jersey City, NJ, with her wife, daughter, and dog.
