Phillip Vazquez is a Client Services Navigator at Hudson Pride Center where he assists clients with accessing a multi-faceted array of available programs ranging from HIV testing and education, to linkage to medical care or preventative services such as PrEP, and condom distribution.
Since 2006, Phillip has focused his career in the area of HIV advocacy and support. Prior to joining Hudson Pride, he held various positions as a Community Peer Educator, Community Health Worker and Patient Navigator, as well as a STD/STI tester, Medical Case Manager and Patient Care Technician.
Phillip’s primary goal is to help as many individuals as possible while providing them with the space necessary to learn and grow from every encounter the universe presents. As a resident of Hudson County since the mid 1980’s, Phillip has seen many of the changes in both HIV care and LGBTQ+ rights that have impacted his diverse community. Phillip is a compassionate community advocate and poet and strongly believes that “education by peers” is one of the most useful methods for combating traumas like stigma, inequality, misinformation and bias that have negatively affected far too many marginalized communities.
